“ 法律，是國家制定或認可的行為規(guī)范，是國家的統(tǒng)治工具，與我們的日常生活息息相關(guān)，在英語中有多種表達，大家耳熟能詳?shù)木陀衛(wèi)aw、regulation、act、code等等，那么，他們之間有什么差異呢？”
既可以表示社會或政府為處理犯罪、商業(yè)協(xié)議和社會關(guān)系而制定的規(guī)則體系，也可以指某一種法律、法則、法學、法律界。
例1：He was a professor of criminal law at Harvard University law school.
他是哈佛大學法學院的刑法學教授。
例2：The laws of nature are absolute.
自然法則至高無上。

是什么促使你從事律師業(yè)的呢？
Regulation
指的是政府或其他權(quán)威機構(gòu)制定的正式規(guī)則、規(guī)章制度和法規(guī)，通常以復數(shù)的形式出現(xiàn)。
例1：The European Union has proposed new regulations to control the hours worked by its employees.
歐盟已經(jīng)就其雇員工作時間的控制問題擬定了新的規(guī)章。
例2：He explains this regulation to me word for word.
他逐字逐句地向我解釋這項法規(guī)。
例3： Pay attention to traffic regulations.
注意交通規(guī)則。
Act
指的是由政府或議會通過的法案、法令。
例1：This Human Rights Act is enforceable in the ordinary courts.
這項《人權(quán)法案》適用于普通法庭。
例2：The legislature repealed the unpopular Rent Act.
立法機關(guān)廢除了不得人心的租借法案。
例3：Her concern has now found expression in the new environmental protection act.
現(xiàn)在，她所關(guān)注的問題已在新的環(huán)境保護法案中得以表達。
Code
指的是規(guī)定一個機構(gòu)或一個國家的人應(yīng)如何行事的一套法律或成文規(guī)則，俗稱法典，也可以指被社會或社會群體普遍接受的一套道德準則或行為規(guī)范。
例1：The newspaper breached the code of conduct on privacy.
該報違反了保護隱私的行為準則。
例2：Napoleonic Code greatly influenced the course of European integration.
《拿破侖法典》對歐洲一體化的歷史進程產(chǎn)生了重要的影響。
例3：As a model of legal policy, Civil Code plays an important role in regulating the decision-making activities.
而作為法律政策典范的民法典，更是起到了規(guī)范日常法律決策活動的作用。
